Euro 2024 Qualifiers: Czech Republic Beat Moldova 3-0
The qualifiers for the UEFA European Championship 2024 are underway, and the Czech Republic have booked themselves a place in the tournament after beating Moldova.
Taking place at Andrův Stadion in Olomouc on Monday, 21 November, the Czechs maintained a dominant possession (55%) of the ball throughout the match: in the 14th minute, their efforts bore fruit when midfielder David Doudera scored not only their first goal of the game, but also his first ever goal on a national level.
Come the second half, Tomas Chory and Tomas Soucek contributed goals of their own to take the hosts’ final score to 3-0.
Unfortunately for Moldova, all they got for their meagre efforts was being reduced to ten men when defender Vladislav Baboglo was red-carded in the 55th minute after committing a foul on Chory.
As a result of their emphatic victory, the Czech Republic have joined fellow Group E team, Albania, in qualifying for the final tournament, which is slated to begin on 14 June 2024.
